This week, I styled 4th of July looks for every day of the week! With the long weekend coming up, there will be tons of opportunities to show off your national pride, while looking chic at the same time. Today’s look is one of my faves (actually, every day’s look is kind of my fave. But this one is truly one of my faves!)
For a really long time, just the mere thought of a suit sent me into a panic; I can’t imagine having the type of job where I’d have to wear a boring black suit every day. (If you’re in that boat- I feel for you! I’d be miserable!) But this past season, suits have come back into fashion in a super fun way. Behold: the bold colored suit. This cobalt blue short suit is fashion forward yet polished. It’s an adventurous look, and I love it! I decided to make it a little sexier and add a lace crop top as the under layer. (This top? I DIE for. It goes with everything and is just a total must have for summer!) I love the juxtaposition of a sweeter, softer lace top with a harder, masculine suit shape. Pairing the two is the ultimate in fashion forward sophistication and totally of-the-moment. Throw on a strappy sandal and you’re totally ready! The suit is such a bold statement, it renders other accessories unnecessary and frankly, are a little too much. Keep it simple and polished. (By the way- the suit? Also available in lime! SO GOOD.) Check out the look below and tell me in the comments: what do you think of a bold colored short suit? Would you dare to wear it?
