Best Rooftop Bars in Savannah

Since moving to Savannah, one of the most frequent questions I get asked is about where to go. Although Savannah has major small-town vibes, there are still tons of places to go, and SO many great restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Now that I’ve lived here almost a year, I’ve gotten to know a lot of these spots and decided that it was the perfect time to start producing more local content, recommending my favorite spots in Savannah. Whether you’re local to Sav or planning a trip, I hope you’ll definitely find this series helpful over the next few months! First up: the best rooftop bars in Savannah.

I live for a great rooftop bar. Maybe it’s the Miami in me, (or the New York?) but rooftop bars are one of my favorite things in the world. You’d be surprised at how many great rooftop bars there are in Savannah! No matter the vibe you’re looking for, casual, swanky, and everything in between, there’s a spot for you. Today, I’m sharing my favorite rooftop bars in Savannah for you!

Peregrin at the Perry Lane Hotel

Peregrin is probably my favorite bar in all of Savannah. It’s on the roof of The Perry Lane Hotel and has the most stunning view of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. The entire rooftop is insanely IG-worthy. There are just SO many prime photo spots.

It’s currently Savannah’s “hot spot” and definitely the place to be on a Saturday night. In the cooler months, they deck out the roof with heat lamps and there’s a fire pit table that’s so cozy.

LOVE the drinks. Peregrin is sort of famous for their frose, of which you know I am a FAN. In the summer, I also go for an Aperol Spritz. But they have a great cocktail menu and you can order bar bites as well. Great place to come with friends!

The Lost Square

The Lost Square at The Alida

The Lost Square is Savannah’s’ NEWEST rooftop bar and another fave spot of mine. It’s a lot smaller and more intimate than Peregrin and makes a really great date spot. There’s also a killer view of the river and it’s the perfect place to catch the sunset.

The Lost Square has some great appetizers as well as a really nice cocktail menu. I usually just go with a rose when I swing by!

Monday to Friday from 4 to 6pm, they run a really good happy hour. $6 wines, $4 beers, $2 shots and appetizers 50% off.

Top Deck Bar

Top Deck Bar at the Cotton Sail Hotel

Top Deck is easily the most casual of all the rooftop bars in Savannah. Definitely more of a sports bar vibe and your man will probably like it best lol.

Top Deck is great for large groups and is right on the river, so a nice spot to stop by if you’re down there. I always see bachelor and bachelorette parties there. I personally think that of all the rooftop bars in Sav, Top Deck has one of the better food menus.

BONUS TIP: if you’re trying to get down to the riverfront and you don’t want to break an ankle on the deathly cobblestones/incredibly steep and ancient stairwells, you can take the elevator inside Cotton Sail to get down to the riverfront!

Rocks on the Roof at the Bohemian Hotel

Rocks on the Roof is a swankier spot than Top Deck and has a far more extensive drink menu. You can also order lunch, dinner and dessert as opposed to small plates, appetizers or bar food like many of the other places on the list.

I like the seating options… plenty of couches!

OK, full disclosure: I haven’t been here yet! While I’ve been to all the others spots on the list multiple times, I have yet to make it to Rocks on the Roof! NEXT ON THE LIST.

The Grove Savannah

The Grove Savannah

I love The Grove!! I’ve been for both lunch and dinner and they have an amazing brunch menu as well! This is by far the smallest of the rooftop spots and there’s a lot of guest turnover as most people will head up to the roof to grab a drink while they wait for a table inside. But, it’s a cute little spot in a great location… right in City Market. Great spot to stop by if you’re walking around Downtown.

My favorite drink is the Champagne Pop, a glass of prosecco with a King of Pops popsicle! If you’re feeling bold and also are with a large group, you can try The Grand Mule which is a 166 oz Moscow Mule… SO cute!

The Grove runs a pretty good happy hour Monday through Friday, 5pm-7pm. 50% off wine and champagne, $2 off cocktails, $2 off appetizers.
