Line I Love: ShinyMix

One of my all-time favorite things about my job is being introduced to new and great brands and getting to know the amazing minds behind them. I always get asked what my favorite part of working in magazines was. When most people think about the world of glossies, they envision being on set at a fashion shoot and styling models. Really, my favorite part has always been what’s called the “market” side. I’ve always had a passion for discovering brands to work with, combing through racks and lookbooks hunting for the quintessential LBD, or the perfect skinny jean. In my own business, I get really excited when I find a new brand and have the opportunity to share it with you guys.

Recently, I connected on social media with new jewelry brand, ShinyMix. Launched in April 2014, ShinyMix is poised to be a go-to destination on the web for affordable fashion jewelry. Owned and operated by husband/wife team, Katherine and Djordje Jankovic, the site offers a well-curated “mix” of “shiny” pieces. Perusing the ShinyMix website proves to be a lesson in self-restraint… honestly, every piece is a must-have. I chatted on the phone for over an hour with Katherine, and the time flew by. (We instantly bonded over our love for glittery jewels and affordable prices.) Accessories have the power to completely transform your look- whether it’s elevating a basic tee, adding a bit of edge to a sweet dress, or dressing up a sweater, a well-chosen bauble can make or break your outfit. Whether you’re looking for a statement-making necklace, a pair of to-die for earrings, or just some dainty layering pieces, ShinyMix covers all your bases. Plus, the under $50 price point makes shopping for the perfect outfit-complementing piece guilt free and easy. Check out some of my favorite pieces below:shinymix
